A circular route along the northern escarpment of the Black Mountains from Pengenffordd to Twmpa, colloquially known as Lord Hereford’s Knob! This mountain is immortalised in the poem Wales Visitation by Allen Ginsberg, written under the influence of LSD during a visit to the cottage of his publisher Tom Maschler in the summer of 1967. We return along the bridleway at the foot of the escarpment.
