From pretty Dorstone we gradually ascend to Vagar Hill, walk along the ridge, and drop down the valley for a look at Snodhill Castle, one of the largest early Norman castles in Britain. Hidden in the hills, half-forgotten for more than three centuries, the monument has recently been rescued from ruin by the tireless efforts of the Snodhill Castle Preservation Trust. We return to Dorstone via the Three Rivers Ride, and perhaps a pint at the Pandy Inn.
